I have seen some video and info about "new" character faces where the mouth and eyes move for example. Is this only for the shows or are some of the character's faces different now?

Figment!

Currently, only for the Dream Along with Mickey Castle Forecourt show.

Due to the technology that controls the movements, it is highly unlikely they would ever be used in a meet 'n' greet environment.

That's what I assumed but I wasn't able to confirm anything anywhere.

Thanks!!

and we need to keep it that way. i have to admit in person, it's pretty neat. but on film, it's pretty terrifying to me. even with camera shots.

The DAWM characters really can't do meet and greet because they are not the usual costumes. One, they can't sign because the controls for the eyes and mouth are located in the hands so they wouldn't be able to sign anything. The performers on stage have to be approved for puppetry as well as meeting the character requirements. My roommate is 'friends' with Goofy but because of the puppetry involved, she cannot help him with the stage show.

Also, those performers tend to be equity and equity is usually almost always be used for shows, parades, and publicity however this is not always the case.

Only the dancers in DAWM are.

Wow! Thanks for posting the link Joanna! We were there in Dec but didn't get to see the show. I was concerned about the characters when I heard about it. But, that is really cool!!!!
