I forget which thread it was on here, but someone jokingly suggested that Febreze be the sponsor of the WDW Monorail system, as they are starting to smell bad. My family was on them this past weekend, and I have to say that I agree. Also, it is only March with temps in low 80's....AC system wasn't exactly running that great. Think that we will take the ferries later this summer....

Ah the sweet smell of Mono-Odor

I really don't think they can ever keep up with keeping them clean with amount of people who ride them daily.

Let's hope no one get's any ideas like that flight a couple months ago...
Poor woman had a stomach flu and was frequently visiting the lav. Was so embarassed by the odor she was lighting matches in the hopes of reducing severity. Hello! Set off the smoke detectors and was met on the ground my police because its a FEDERAL OFFENSE!

So, here's to Fabreeze or those little cardboard trees- no matches, please!

Agreed, Unless they close the Monorail for a few weeks to do a cleaning..They will always have a noticable smell. There is just ALOT of people on them everyday. IMHO, They are about as clean as they can be.:mickey:

Ah yes, the sweet smell of the Monorail! They need to clean the fronts off also, hate that "paint" job.

I'm guessing a relatively small cleaning crew does the best they can overnight. Every few months they should do some kind of seasonal cleaning, where they bring in extra people and do all the monrails very well.

I agree. The smell can be worse at certain times. I have also noticed a smell on the hand grips on Splash Mountain. The foamy part that you hold on to in the front smells like sweat sometimes. P.U.:ack:

Maybe they are clean in the mornings (monorail and ride bars), but throughout the day, certain odors mix and become not so pleasant.

The seats are vinyl. Seems like they could quickly steam clean the floors. Maybe they need to leave the doors open overnight and let them air out a bit...

We went on them on Saturday. They need sprucing up.

Got my co-pilot license on Saturday, too!

BTW - there are 12 monorail trams.
