Mar. 25, 1944 – Muppeteer and comedy director Frank Oz was born in Hereford, England.
Mar. 25, 1947 – Elton John, born Reginald Kenneth Dwight in Pinner, known for his music in Disney’s “The Lion King”, and “Aida”, was born in Middlesex, England.
Mar. 25, 1954 – At the 26th Annual Academy Awards, Disney won an award for “Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom”, and one for the film “The Living Desert”.
Mar. 25, 1956 – Actor and Disney Legend Matthew Garber was born in England. He would go on to appear in “The Three Lives of Themasina,” “Mary Poppins,” and “The Gnome-Mobile.”
Mar. 25, 1960 – The Disney TV show aired episode 10 of “Elfego Baca: Gus Tomlin Is Dead.”
Mar. 25, 1979 – Disney’s part-1 of its 2-part TV movie “Born to Run” aired. (Part-2 aired Apr. 1, 1979)
Mar. 25, 1999 – Elton John appeared on TV’s Late Show with David Letterman promoting Disney’s “Aida”, for which he has written the music.
Mar. 25, 2001 – Two Time Academy Award winner Lawrence M. “Larry” Lansburgh, known for his work on “Fantasia”, “Cinderella”, and “The Wonderful World of Disney”, died at the age of 89
Mar. 25, 2002 – Songwriter Randy Newman won an Oscar for Best Original Song for “If I Didn’t Have You” from Disney’s Monster’s, Inc.
Mar. 25, 2003 – Who Framed Roger Rabbit was released on video and DVD.
